We are still preparing for Logan's First Christmas. We've yet to find the perfect ornament for him, but we found a teddy-bear for his stocking, that is wearing a blue sleeper, blue santa hat, and says "My First Christmas" on it.

So far he seems really excited, when he sees the little table tree we put up this year. We decided to not put up a big one, since we'd be in Texas for the main part of Christmas, and this way Mommy and Daddy don't have to keep worrying about what Logan is messing with! :)

We'll be starting our Christmas on Saturday the 20th, and we're all very anxious to see Grandmommie and Pops, and Mommom and Poppop for the first time!

Logan is in an age that he's a little cautious of who he meets, but once he realizes that they are good people, he warms up to them pretty quickly :) Usually we try to just let the new person hold one of his favorite toys, and show it to him, offering it to him, and it helps him to get used to them :)

For the most part, Logan is able to sleep through the night, and still takes a few naps during the day. His naps range from 20 minutes to 3 hours, and are usually spaced between 2-4 hours of playtime.

He is very curious, and likes to try to get into everything, even things he's already seen and knows have hurt him in the past. We're trying to teach him to remember things better.

He likes his saucer that he sits in some of the time. He'll sit in it for around 30 minutes on average, and sometimes will get ansy and want to get down on the floor to play.

He's learned to help mommy pick him up, because I can't lift him as easy, while my back is healing, but when I reach down to pick him up, he pushes off the ground or mattress to help me the best he can.

Logan has been having a little bit of trouble with his teething, which he now has 2 fully grown in and 1 halfway, as well as a possible fourth one trying to break through. He is usually happy, but can get upset easily with those teeth poking through.

He also had a bit of some stomach issues over the last few days, and we're working on that.

He's starting to show favoritism towards a few toys, namely his "Doug" and phone, as well as a few of his plastic food items.

Daddy giggles every time he starts to squeal at his toys, and squeals back at him.

I still think he's the cutest thing in the world!

Logan is still one of the happiest babies I have ever known. He smiles almost all the time now, and only fusses if he wants his bottle or a nap. He loves to talk, and likes to chew on his plastic vegetables that we got him. He's already a big flirt and likes to flirt with every girl he meets! He's definitely a daddy's boy too, he brightens up as soon as Daddy enters the room.

July 1, 2008

On June 26th, Logan had his 4 month well-baby checkup. He was in the 90th percentile for his weight, and higher than the 95th percentile (doctor said off the charts!) for his length. He's going to be a tall boy!

She said everything else seems to be doing well, and he should be rolling over and starting to try to crawl very soon.

When he got his shots, he had 6 immunizations, one was oral, and the remaining 5 were divided into 3 actual syringes that were put in his thighs. The first one made him jump a little, the second one he frowned at the nurse, and the third one made him cry for about 5 seconds, after which he was just a little whiney for about 30 minutes. He's becoming a brave boy!

He already is starting to push forward, and turns himself completely in a circle in his crib. Last night was the first night he tried to roll onto his stomach while he was sleeping, and he got about 3/4 of the way there, he was sleeping on his side.

Starting this friday (July 4th, first day that Grandmommie and Pops Speary will be here for the weekend), he will be able to eat cereal, the first of his solids. The doctor said he could start stage one of the other solids closer to his 6 month visit.

We also took Logan on his first camping trip, on June 20th. His uncle Cory made it up from Texas to come with us, and he managed to have a very good time, at night at least, because he's used to the nature sounds from his Rainforest mobile he has in his crib. During the day he got a little hot, but we were able to go into Tom and Peggy's camper to cool off while everyone was out on the canoes. I'll have to ask his Grandma Ryan if she got any pictures of him in the water.

April 11, 2008

Logan is starting to smile and laugh now, more than just in his sleep! He's getting longer too, and heavier, and our next doctor appointment is April 17th.

If he manages to get to sleep between 2 and 3am (he takes naps till about 11pm) He will sleep until 7am when Daddy gets up for work! This is helping Mommy alot :)

April 02, 2008

Mommy is still quite tired :) Logan likes to keep her up and even during the day if she wants to take a nap when he does, his naps are soooo short and she hardly gets the chance to fall asleep before he's ready to wake up again!

Despite all of it, he is still the cutest thing she's ever had, and she's soo glad he's here, and makes her smile even when he's staring up at her while she changes his diaper :)

Main page archive:

Logan is getting used to being at home, he's almost 6 weeks old now. He likes to be held, even at night, he'd prefer to be held or sleep beside Mommy than to sleep in his own bassinet. If he sleeps by Mommy he can sleep up to 6 hours straight, before he wants to get up to get his diaper changed or eat. During the day he's usually eating every 3 hours, but sometimes he has fussy days where he wants to eat every hour (like today! *looks over to him eating right now!*)

His favorite toy so far is his stuffed monkey, maybe just because we show it to him all the time and he's used to it, or maybe he really does prefer it, we don't know yet, but soon!

He got to meet his uncle Cory this past weekend, and slept peacefully in his arms for a few hours.

He is still getting presents in the mail, and Mommy is still working on getting out Thank Yous to everyone who has sent something, even if she is a little behind! :)

Here are some pictures from Mommy's cell phone, and she added some more pictures to the Picture page, from the good cameras. If you want to save any of them, right click the picture and choose 'save as' and put them on your computer somewhere.

Logan Sean Ryan is here!!
He was born February 22, 2008 at 7:17pm, weighing 8lb 7oz, 20.5 inches long. He did not cry when he entered our world, just looked around curiously.

Mommy is doing well, aside from some discomfort from the birth, as well as 3 areas of stitches from tears.

Mommy is still very sore, because of the trauma of the delivery. I pushed for only 45 minutes, but the size of his head tore me in two places, causing the need for more than average amount of stitches. I also had a small pressure growth removed, so that is still sore as well.

He is a very good baby so far though! He does not get very loud when crying... unless his diaper is very very dirty. He had one night that he didn't want me to sleep at all, but the following nights were alot easier. I'm learning to deal with the lack of sleep a little easier now that he seems to be trying to get into a schedule.

I will be posting more pictures as time goes on, but for now, enjoy the links in the Messages page and the pictures on the main page. :)

February 15, 2008

Still alot of pain, and having trouble sleeping through the night. I do okay if I rest during the day and try to not sleep until nighttime. Daddy got me some goodies today at Bath and Body Works so that I can pamper myself while I rest. He so sweet to me :)

We found a really cute bassinet on clearance (last one- floor model) at BabyDepot of Burlington Coat Factory. It's green and has alot of florals, but baby won't care since it's only the first couple of months he'll be using it :)

Thursday, February 14th, 2008 - 38 Week Visit

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

Today's visit showed no change since last week. Since I'm still in alot of pain and there is no progress, the doctor scheduled an induction for February 22, next Friday. I will go in around 6:30am, and receive Pitocin, and then she'll check on me throughout the day, and baby should be here by mid-afternoon!!

There is still a chance he will want to come out before then, but this is just in case, so that the pain will go away! :)

Next Visit: February 21, 2008

Thursday, February 8th, 2008 - 37 Week Visit

3cm dilated and nearly 100% effaced. Doctor approved more pain medication to get me through the next few weeks, and said she'd be willing to induce... if I decided I needed to be free of the pain.

February 03, 2008

Dealing with alot of pain as I dialate... and having trouble sitting upright. But other than that, everything is still going good.

Daddy 2 b here. we toured the maternity ward at the hospital this past friday, looks like a pretty good place. i'm having to help mommy up and around a lot more, but the baby seems to be moving a lot more and reacting to things too. it's fun to play with him :)

Visit details:

Thursday, February 1st, 2008 - 36 Week Visit

Today's checkup was to see how I was doing, and to check on my progress if anything is getting started. She said that I am 2cm dialated and 50% effaced, so it looks like the baby is getting ready! She said he's still in his correct position so she doesn't foresee any complications with trying to deliver normally.

We also went and finished up the pre-registration process at the birthing center and went on a tour with Daddy's parents. So we're all set once things start moving :)

Next Visit: February 08, 2008

January 28, 2008

So far, everything is still going well, I'm just exhausted, and very very thirsty. I also still have the pelvic pain... though the feeling of my stomach stretching more has made that not so bad now... It's really hard to get to sleep at night, mostly because of the size of me! And Daddy said I look like a big boat when I try to turn around now!! *gasp!!*

How wude! Anyway... I do feel him pushing against my bladder and colon alot... which is pretty painful if one or both of those are full, or even.. have anything in them! But aside from that... I'm just tired. :)

Visit details:

Thursday, January 17rd, 2008 - 34 Week Visit

This check-up was mostly just checking heartbeat and height of fundus and everything to make sure things are still progressing.

She said at this point if he decides to start trying to come out, she won't try to stop the labor, since by now he's pretty much mostly developed and would need very little assistance to survive.

Next Visit: January 31, 2008

January 03, 2008

I put a video linked as "Diane" on the message page of this site, feel free to watch the baby have hiccups! I'll put up another soon as I can get a good one. He moves around alot more lately.

The doctor visit pretty much says it all... aside from the pain that I dealt with last night that made me wonder if I was going into labor, but apparently not yet. :)

Visit details:

Thursday, January 3rd, 2008 - 32 Week Visit

Well I had the doctor look at the 'thing' again and she said that she agrees with the other Obs... that it's just swelling because of the pressure, and it will probably get bigger these next couple of months, then more than likely go away after birth.

As for everything else, it seems okay, but she checked my cervix just in case, because of the pains I was having yesterday, and the stress I'm feeling 'down there' and she said it's still closed as it should be, but when feeling it she noticed the baby's head is RIGHT up against it, so he's ready soon as the Ms. Cervix will let him through. :) She said I'm just starting to feel alot of the last month symptoms this month! EEK!

December 28, 2007

The soreness is only getting worse, the only thing that seems to help is if I lie on my right side for an extended period of time. Once we are back from Oklahoma, I'll be trying some PreNatal Yoga stretches, to see if it alleviates any of the pain.

He's been alot more active lately, which encourages me that he's doing well, but when the kicks hit the ribs or my bladder.... being that he's stronger... it's a little owie... hehe...

I also don't know why people complain about the baby hiccups... I think they're cute!! He seems to get them often after I eat.

Visit details:

December 26th: This visit was a between-er... Since I missed the visit for December 28th, due to having to be in Oklahoma with Daddy.

I went to this visit because of having cold symptoms and something strange in my groin area. The doctor said both were normal and that I have nothing to worry about, other than the fact that there really isn't anything I can take or do to make either of them go away. She said my cold is just that, and feels worse simply because of being pregnant and how my sinuses and nose changes during pregnancy. The other thing, she said is normal as well, and may swell more during the last few months, and that I'd be checked again just in case, at the next visit.

Next Visit: January 3, 2008

December 04, 2007

Soreness is still very intense, worse when I move around too much or sit in certain positions. My stretches will hopefully ease that up a bit, as well as the support garments Daddy bought me today.

I still giggle every time the baby gets into an active moment, and I know I'll miss that part once he's born... it may be the main part I miss about being pregnant hehe.

Visit details:

Mommy's weight gain is about right for the time frame and my body type, but baby is bigger than his average for his age! WHOA! Following after Daddy and Grandpa Speary? :)

Infection is gone, pain is still there, but doctor thinks it is merely because baby is riding very low and very smooshed up in the lower half of my uterus, causing pressure in my groin, and he tends to stay more on the right side, causing my left side to stretch. She recommended a few stretches and Physical Therapy, as well as had me go in for another Ultrasound, which the pictures are up on the picture page now... The Physical Therapy will wait until after I try a few stretches from my last Therapy session as well as some PreNatal Yoga poses I have in my PreNatal Yoga deck. Daddy also bought Mommy a support belt and some support undies to help with the stress on my body :)

Got the Rhogam shot today as well, for my type O- blood type, and had my Glucose screening and Anemia bloodwork done today, results will be coming soon :)

Visits will be every two weeks from now on!

Have applied to a few more jobs that seem very good for me, very hopeful!

November 06, 2007

I'm feeling very sore still, and having trouble sleeping... which causes me to wake up with headaches sometimes, and I have a little bit of sinus headaches because of the weather changes, but other than that I am feeling okay.

Baby has been moving around alot, giving me some fun times and laughs at night before I go to bed, as I watch my belly move around in weird positions. Daddy gets to watch it sometimes too, and gets a kick out of me giggling at baby.

Visit details:

Mommy and baby are both doing good. My weight gain is just about right for my body type. My fundus height is 24inches which is good, since it is supposed to match the number of weeks along, give or take.

The bad news is that I have an infection, probably in the bladder, that I am taking some antibiotics to get rid of. It explains the extreme cramping I've been having in my lower abdomen that I thought was just ligament stretching.

Also... after this next visit, we'll be seeing the doctor every 2 weeks instead of 4, because we'll be in the third trimester! Coming up so fast!

Have applied to a few more jobs that seem very good for me, very hopeful!

October 21, 2007

Couple days after my birthday, and the baby is being very active and reminding me why I'm going through all this nausea and stuff :)

Daddy got to feel the baby alot yesterday, I think he's pretty excited but probably overwhelmed by me telling him to feel the baby every time I feel him active :) It's cute hearing him say "bonk!" every time he feels a movement though! :D!

Haven't heard back on the job but still very hopeful!

-Mommy 2 B

October 17, 2007

Still having alot of nausea, must be my morning sickness is in the 2nd trimester. Ohhh gooodie. Other than that, just feeling kinda worn down towards the end of the day, even after sleeping alot. Also looking for a job that I will be able to do while pregnant and afterwards. Right now my major interest is a Photo Editor job that I found online that would allow me to work from home. Wish me luck!!

Adding a few pictures to the registry page... of cute baby shower things I've seen. Just for fun!

-Mommy 2 B

October 12, 2007

Today I'm feeling fairly okay. Just have a headache and a little bit of nausea. Caitlyn was here to spend the night last night, and she and I spent today together. She helped me pick out a few of the pets on the Virtual pet page, so go meet them and have fun with them! They are all very cute!

Baby is moving alot lately. I can definitely feel him inside, and every once in a while I feel movement on the outside. Doc says I should be feeling outer movement alot more in the next few weeks.

Hopefully by the end of tonight the site will be up and running. :D

October 12, 2007

Okay, much as I hate to put up pictures of myself online, I did it because I know all of you are anxious to see how the baby is growing :)

I hope this page is alot easier to navigate and more pleasing to the eye than the last one. It is definitely easier for me to plan out, because I worked on it all myself. It is also hosted on my own space so that I can rely on my own stuff for it to work properly. Please don't forget to leave a message on the shoutbox! I went ahead and transferred over the ones from the other site to the shoutbox, so that they don't have to be repeated, but feel free to leave multiple messages. That's what it's there for!
